Spend time in the our beautiful gardens with local artist, Erin Brott-Holtzman. From the shores of Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes to the edge of the Grand Canyon, Erin takes her art supplies with her wherever she goes, to paint en plein air, a French term translating to “in the open air.” Artists paint what they see in the landscape, whether it be a sprawling view or an up-close detail. Join us as Erin shares her tips and tricks to painting outside, before you are set loose in the gardens, where you’ll seek out your own spot to paint en plein air.
Materials will be provided. Children will leave with a set of watercolor paints and extra paper.
Parents welcome to stay and participate for an additional $5.
Ideal for ages 8+, or 5+ with an adult.
Note: Tickets will not be issued. Reservations will be held at the door. Please bring a copy of your email order confirmation and have photo identification available for admission.
Event Refunds: Because of Meadow Brook Hall's non-profit status and the intimacy of our events, we only offer full refunds if cancellations are received fifteen (15) days prior to the event, partial refunds of 50% if cancellations are received seven to fourteen (7-14) days prior to the event, and no refunds if cancellations are received less than seven (7) days prior to the event. NO EXCEPTIONS.
