Algebra 1 Readiness

Algebra 1 Readiness

This mathematics course is for students from 6th grade to 12th grade who are struggling with Algebra I. Employing a “problem-based classroom” teaching approach, the instructor will give the students a binder full of Algebra I practice problems. Students will complete problems in pairs. Then they will review them on the board, with their peers, and with the instructors. Instructors will teach concepts and ideas as needed by the students, but this camp will be focused on running through as many practice problems as possible. Students who struggled in a previous Algebra I course would be a good fit for this camp. The type of problems will be based on the Algebra I and II common core curriculum and student needs.
