Minecraft

Minecraft

This course is for students who are familiar with Minecraft either from using it online or in a video game. Students will spend each day in a lab playing the game. Students will be encouraged to actively participate and be hands-on in the program. Students will also be encouraged to ask questions to ensure their success in the challenges. Instructors will model concepts and ideas as needed by the students. Students will be encouraged to share what they created at the end of each day. Parents and guardians will be welcome to attend this sharing. The course will be administered over five days, Monday through Friday, all day on the campus of Oakland University. Student success will be heavily dependent upon their commitment to excellence while in class. This course is for 1st through 8th grade students.

In this camp, students will:

  • Build worlds in the Minecraft computer program.
  • Be given a specific challenge for each day. Design and create a world to complete the challenge
  • Compete against one another in a team atmosphere.
