CCAS Greenhouse

Wilbur V. Harlan Greenhouse Research Space

Located on the top floor of Science and Engineering Hall, the 1,225-square-foot greenhouse opened in 2017. The rooftop facility is home to plants that support research on insects, climate change, genetic diversity and other active projects.

Research space in the Harlan Greenhouse is associated with a fee to be paid to the Department of Biological Sciences per semester. This fee covers the cost of daily plant maintenance by our greenhouse staff such as watering, fertilizing, monitoring, pruning, re-potting, and treating plants for insects/disease as needed. It also includes general supplies such as pots, flats, soil, fertilizer, etc.
